Bailey's Barkin' BBQ!

I'm a little behind in posting this, but better late than never, right? A little more than a week ago, we had our very first party at our house! We decided that after living in our house for more than a year, it was high time to have people over. We should have done it much sooner, but I always had excuses for why we couldn't (we didn't have a couch, Bailey was a puppy, no decor, not enough room, etc.). Well, I finally realized that my house will never be "finished" or perfect, so we shouldn't let that stop us from having friends over to hang.

We thought it would be fun to name our party and Garth thought it should be about Bailey. So, we hosted Bailey's Barkin' BBQ! We had a great time and we'll definitely have to have everyone over again soon. Thanks to everyone who came! Below you'll find some pics from the party.

Bailey had a good time too! She got so excited every time someone came in the door. She hasn't quite learned that it's not good manners to run in between people's legs when they come in!

And, last but not least, us. This was at the end of the night. Do I look tired or what?! Anyway, that must have meant we had a good time!

Bailey Battles the Bowl

A week or so ago, Bailey was playing with her cube toy, which dispenses treats as she rolls it around. Well, it got interesting when she knocked it into her dog dish. She got really upset and started barking because she just couldn't figure out how to get it out. So, of course, we recorded it for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!

Reunion Recap

Here's my rather delayed recap of my 10 year class reunion that was held over Fourth of July weekend. As senior class president, I had the dubious responsibility of planning the affair. Though, I most certainly can't take credit for it. I was so lucky to have my friend, Kelly, take care of things on the home front.

Anyway, the Santa Fe High School class of 1998 had 35 students in it. I know - I went to a SMALL school. Or, should I say, small? We had a wonderful picnic at a local winery called Baltimore Bend. Only seven students from the class (and one class sponsor) came, but we still had a good time. Kelly put together a fantastic meal and the weather was perfect. So, no one complained! Thank you to Kelly for doing such a great job and thanks to those who came!

Here's a cute picture of the girls in my class who came - me, Kelly, Jennifer, Kara and April. Can you believe this is HALF of the girls that graduated in our class? Out of the 35 students in our class, only 10 were girls.

Aunt La-La!

Amy has taught our neice, Sarah, how to say the names of people in our family. Although she's having a bit of trouble with Garth's name (as you'll see in this video), she has Aunt "La-La" down! We couldn't teach Sarah to say Bailey just yet, but she did make a barking noise (the oooh-oooh-oooh sound) when Bailey walked by. Adorable!!!

Baby Sarah Makes Animal Sounds

We had the pleasure of seeing Garth's sister, Amy, and our neice, Sarah, this past week. Sarah has grown so much and we always love seeing all of her new tricks. At 18 months, she's really doing a lot of talking! I took a couple videos of her while we were there. In this one, she displays her knowledge of animal sounds. So cute!

Independence in Missouri

For the Fourth of July weekend, we headed to Missouri to see my family and go to my 10-year high school reunion (though, we'll cover the reunion in another post). We enjoyed getting away and spending a relaxing weekend with my family.

Before we could hit the road, we had to go by Garth's office. While Bailey and I were waiting outside, I took the opportunity to get a picture of Garth's name on the door. Isn't his offive building pretty? It's on an old town square in a suburb of Nashville. He works across the street from the courthouse and it's very picturesque. Even though he works on ly 45 minutes from Nashville, Springfield is very much like a small town. I like to call it Mayberry!

Bailey's excited to get to the farm!

The weather was beautiful in Missouri, so I was inspired to take some pictures of the farm. Everything was so green since they have had a lot of rain.

Here is my parent's house...I realized I've never taken a picture of it before. Even though I never lived in this house, I still view it as home sweet home.

Happy Dogs!

We went to see my grandparents and brought all the dogs along. Bailey is on the far left. Jewel, Bailey's half sister is in the middle, and Lucy, mom to both Bailey and Jewel is lying down on the right.

My brother-in-law, Jeremy, got a motorcycle a couple of weeks ago. He was excited to show it off to us!

I also got the chance to ride along in my Dad's new combine. I wish I would have gotten a picture of the machine itself (it was pretty!), but I did snap this cool picture from the cab as I rode along.

Right before we hit the road back to Tennessee, I caught this cute picture of my sisters cuddling up on the couch.
